Re: Wizkids Unpainted Minis... now with paint!

A really nice paint job. I like the white on the wings - the kind of bold contrast I can never quite bring myself to try.

Waiting for this to arrive (UK); looking forward to painting it even more now.

Re: Reaper Bones 5 KS

IIRC, Reaper was a touch late in turning this add-on off in the original PM. [...] there was likely a glut of orders for it all on one day, accidentally overtaking their order numbers (that last is just a guess on my part, but seems likely). Ah - I was wondering if something like this had happened ...

Looks like a re-up at Auggie's. Awakened Trees already gone though.

It's in the 5.5 Pledge Manager - $17 this time around (up from $14).

I'm picking one up. Didn't do so first time round, but it's since hit me what a bargain it is just for the terrain.

Female I think - looks like a straight lift from the 5e Monster Manual art.

Re: WizKids' Critical Role Miniatures - The Next Wave

There's some discussion on the DnDBeyond forums about the degree to which this source book will be integrated into official D&D material. I'm a little surprised that it is being published independently; I wonder if that has to do with the rights from the first version being somehow still tied u...

Re: WizKids' Critical Role Miniatures - The Next Wave

The mystery of where the new art and stat blocks are coming from has been revealed... https://www.beadleandgrimms.com/criticalrole/taldorei Seems Beadle&Grimm is producing a Tal'dorei campaign setting book, and one picture reveals the Cinderslag Elemental's stat block and art, looking just like...

Re: WizKids' Critical Role Miniatures - The Next Wave

The Green Ronin Critical Role book is gone and a revised version is being made by the Critical Role publishing arm. So maybe more monsters in the new revised book. I'm interested to know if that means that WotC will be bringing this one in as canon. I'd presume not given that it's coming out on CR'...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms (Set 20): Wild Beyond the Witchlight

Also i can't unsee Jack Black cosplaying as Samwise Gamgee: :P Exactly my thought on seeing this too  Like others, I'm not overly enamoured of the campaign-specific minis in this set or their aesthetic (though I do like those mounted hags). Slightly disappointed as I'm running a homebrew campa...

Re: Reaper Bones 5 KS

The listed primers work for some people. But various factors that are difficult to quantify in aggregate [...]. As a wise man on the reaper forums once said, “rattle can primers work on Bones... until they don’t.” Spot on. Army Painter has worked fine for me on a range of Reaper plastics, including...

Re: Reaper Bones 5 KS

Brophy, I would HIGHLY advise against using a rattle can on Bones. Every time I’ve seen it tried in person, the model ended up tacky. Sage advice. That said, though I tend to prime my Reaper minis (with Army Painter). But you have to be very careful with what you use, and depends also on the variet...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms (Set 19): Snowbound

That goblin guy is an NPC from Frostmaiden. It is a gnome using a mask to disguise itself as a goblin . That's kind of the spoiler I was trying to avoid  In terms of the other two RoTF character minis: The one with the cauldron is a named Sea Hag (technically a lake hag), Maud Chiselbone. So t...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms (Set 19): Snowbound

Excellent find Frogprince! Now, can anyone name the newbies???? Great find! In terms of generic minis we've not seen yet, I see Solar (Angel), Myconid Sovereign and Myconid Sprout, and a new generic Sea Hag. There are also 2 (maybe 3) new specific characters from RoTF, but I'll need to work out how...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms (Set 19): Snowbound

They look great if you like them that color but as a traditionalist they should be gray :D. Can I ask why you painted them this color? Example below as to what I see their skin color should be. Are you a Warhammer player as that may explain a lot :D ? Thanks - glad you liked them despite the colour...
