Re: D&D Icons of the Realms (Set 26): Sand & Stone

Hoping we get some spoilers for this set in the next week or so. Considering they(wizkids) still hasn't updated the images for Dragonlance (on dndmini.com or Shop.wizkids.com) even with it already released, I wouldn't hold my breath. Yeah, I am guessing whoever is responsible for the updates was no...

Re: D&D Onslaught: Scenario Kit 1 - The Benefactor

Remember what I kept saying when this was announced? Attack Wing 2.0, people. Just saying, this has already had more product support then Attack Wing or Dungeon Command.. 2 New Expansions, this Scenario Expansion, 1 Add-on Faction, and then 2 Faction Expansions, filled events at conventions and the...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms (Set 25): Dragonlance : Shadow of the Dragon Queen

I was able to insert my Green Dragon wing just fine without cutting anything. It did take a little elbow grease, though.

I love how much you love to make me reminisce, with annoyance, about Clix bases.

Re: Pathfinder and Critical Role sprue minis announced

I can see Stormtroopers as an example that demands more similarity in scale, for sure. Unless the guy on the right is some punk kid on his way to rescue a princess, that is. Yeah, as a longtime SW gamer this is one of the more glaring examples of incompatible size. A lot of the legion models are mo...

Re: D&D Onslaught: Scenario Kit 1 - The Benefactor

A 40$ miniatures game with no miniatures? The market here isn’t serious wargamers with experience using model-agnostic rules, it’s casual DnD fans (at least, optimistically). That would crash and burn way harder than Onslught has so far.

Re: D&D Onslaught - Wave 1 Expansions

I wish these were not saddled with highly specific spell effects. It essentially removes them from PC mini contention and locks them into certain encounters types Is it that highly specific for a magic multi class type or a rogue to be able to use Mage Hand? Or for a wizard to be able to summon gre...

Re: D&D Onslaught - Wave 1 Expansions

I’m pretty happy with my Red Wizards, though I did some repainting (especially on the tiefling to turn her skin purple and fix her gloves). The deep gnome in particular is one of the best figures Wizkids has produced, imo - the face detailing on mine is perfect, light years ahead of many of their ot...

Re: Pathfinder and Critical Role sprue minis announced

Reaper is probably the most famous for this with their ‘25mm Heroic Scale’, which is closer to 28-32mm but allowed them to get accepted into a 25 market that wasn’t interested in bigger scale. Yeah—unfortunately Reaper is very inconsistent even within their own line of offerings and has been prone ...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms (Set 25): Dragonlance : Shadow of the Dragon Queen

GG Brick Unboxing Video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm4bcH5M1Ik That was a really good brick. 5/6 boosters with big minis in them including the Merrow. If I was guaranteed 5 larges in a brick I would probably buy one. I bet more often than not there will only be 3/6 of them. I got 3 in my bric...

I’ll pick this one up only if I see one in-store that isn’t too bent / warped in terms of the weapons. I have a feeling they’re going to be all over the place…

Re: Questions to WizKids

It’s interesting to me that you see a distinction between those two kinds of stores near you. On the mid-Atlantic seaboard we tend to just have game stores, full stop. So I can’t speak to that difference. But I can say that when I worked at my FLGS last summer, we sold tons of Nolzur’s to people of...

Re: Questions to WizKids

I have found that wargaming stores tend to carry more Nolzur's than RPG stores. There is a specific thought process from wargamers because they know they have to paint their models. More often than not, they also have to assemble them. My local Wargame store keeps a stock of every Nolzur's on the m...

Re: Questions to WizKids

Since when do WoTC and WK make business decisions based on success? (not very often) They ALWAYS make business decisions based on profit though, and eliminating Nolzur's with an upscale, higher profit version seems like exactly what you should expect them to do, regardless of success. If they liter...

Re: Questions to WizKids

I suspect Nolzur's was replaced with Frameworks.....at least unofficially. Yeah, that’s the assumption on my end too, but I’m holding out hope. Frameworks doesn’t seem to be moving at the two stores I frequent - one has stopped ordering it. Meanwhile they constantly need to restock Nolzur’s. I know...
