Re: What did you buy this week?

My order of PFB Fearsome Foes came in; gotta say I'm impressed! Lots of useful minis, nice paint jobs and good value for the $$$. My case:

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms: Vecna: Eve of Ruin (Set 32) & Miska the Wolf-Spider

Couple of comments...first, I got the unpainted Hellwasps a while back and the wings are pretty darn delicate. While any superglue can get them back in place, they do require pretty gentle handling. That said @ ~$9 retail, it might be worthwhile to paint them yourself. Maybe just get a few contrast ...

Mordenkainen is a very faithful homage to his picture on the cover of the classic adventure WG5:

Re: Critical Role - The Shademother Boxed Set

All three of those Monster Manual Expanded books have been extremely beneficial to me as a DM. Eliminates "same old" options for the most iconic monsters. I checked these out and they are now proudly sitting on my 5e shelf. Thanks for recommending I had the hardest time finding the 2nd on...

Re: Wave 23 - Nolzur's Deep Cuts, Critical Role, Wizkids

I've been to several stores in the Northeast/New England that have taken a similar tack. A subset of those have been pivoting to Bones. The common them has been one of two things: poor sales or inability to restock good sellers. As always, YMMV.

Re: What did you buy this week?

Went to FLGS to grab some skaven for use as wererats and noticed some shelves with bagged GW models in varying states of finish. The skinks were only $20 ($2/fig) and, while they could still use a bit more work, are as good or better than many PPM lizardmen:

Re: Just waiting for Nolzur’s and Deep Cuts, don’t mind me!

My worry is that they’ll cull Nolzur’s to make room for Frameworks or some other wannabe boutique line. Exactly. One of the things I have always loved about the pre-primed lines is that they offer an option to get high priced rares without paying a king's ransom, provided you're willing to paint (e...

Re: Just waiting for Nolzur’s and Deep Cuts, don’t mind me!

At several stores in New England, I've found they are drastically culling their pre-primed minis stock from what used to be a really huge selection down to very little. Don't know if this is a local thing but it doesn't make me optimistic for the line overall.

Doesn't have the skin tags but the face is similar...

Though the Moon as a backdrop does lend additional credence to it being a Lunar Dragon
