Re: Nolzur’s duplicating Icons sculpts
I was just thinking the other day that I wish they'd come out with more Nolzur's after looking at PPMs from the past few sets. The Nolzurs (and pathfinder/deepcut) versions of the same minis tend to have much sharper details than the PPMs. And though I'm a bit exhausted with painting miniatures for ...

Re: Eye of The Deep mini
This guy looks good but needs crab/lobster/scorpion claws. Maybe kitbash with some 3d printed arthropod arms. Can't determine if his scale is appropriate (i'm a stickler for proper scale). https://www.etsy.com/listing/1148056898/eyes-of-the-deep-3d-printed-rpg-epic https://i.etsystatic.com/33823279/...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms: Hobgoblin Warband
I like this set, but having filled out my Rank & file hobgoblins with sprue minis from LotRs, I'm passing on picking it up. I agree this set, despite having really nice sculpts and paint, are not all looking like the same creature type to me. There are a couple I might cave-in to picking up as s...

Re: Critical Role Miniatures - Wave 3
Thanks from me too. The first thing I said upon seeing this set is I want to compare the size of Utugash to other Pit Fiends. I want to NOT like him, because even as a single he's pricey. But there's something about his proportions and stance the way he's holding the double bit axe that I'm really l...

Re: Heroclix to D&D , waste not want not
heroclix.JPG Some of the Heroclix I've accumulated. Not sure what some of these are but from memory: The pied piper, Lorelei, Valkyrie, Asp, Kryptonian warrior (moded to be a Purple dragon), Kryptonian Scientist (blacksmith), x-23 (?) Gondorians, a wood elf, cultists, the manchurian (?) and Witch (...

Re: Best glue for clear bases?
Cyanoacrylate (superglue) tends to be problematic as the esters do soften (and sometimes eat) most plastics, Also, due to the fast drying element, wiping off residue if it is over-applied can look much worse than just leaving the blob of too much adhesive. Though the bonds tend to be sufficiently st...

Re: What did you buy this week?
More 3D prints from ScatterMasters . Not shown here are more gnolls to fill out my warband. When I was trying to determine their scale, ScatterMasters offered to scale them to whatever size I wanted at no extra charge. I gave him where I wanted the height to be and he scaled the prints to match exac...

Re: Critical Role paints and repaints
Great improvements. I am a fan with you using the proper finishes on the minis. I also really like the level of contrasts and colors you're using. My only critique would be that some of the larger pieces would benefit from layering tones to build up to the highlights. The simpler technique of blocki...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms: Beholder Collector's Box
Jandor probably was trolling a bit. But the point is that a variety of beholders made a lot more sense and would, even now, garner interest in collectors and players. But they under print the desirable (based on demand) and then overprint the mediocre.

Re: Painted My Nolzur's Roper like Dwarven Forge Cavern's Deep
I like it! Good dry brushing. The highlight hue matches really well which is often the tough part and I like the dark gums. Makes it look natural, simultaneously makes it scream "I'm NOT a stalagmite!" while at the same time looking complementary to all the other colors. There's still a lo...

Re: D&D Icons of the Realms: Beholder Collector's Box
This seems bizarre. There are still unsold unpainteds in the same sculpt at the FLGS for $4.95 ea. with swappable eyestalks to boot! I know a lot of people would rather go on a 5 mile heavy pack hike than pick-up a paint brush but producing this leaves me dumbfounded. This is one of the easiest to p...
