WizKids will release D&D Icons of the Realms: Mimic Colony Warband, a miniatures boxed set, in June 2023.
Dungeon Masters can use this new boxed to challenge adventurers with a deadly warband of mimic traps for use during encounters. This set contains seven painted miniatures of this classic D&D foe including a Chest Mimic, a Barrel Mimic, a Table Mimic, a Flowerpot Mimic, a Chair Mimic, a Wardrobe Mimic, and a Bear Skin Rug Mimic. These miniatures come in non-blind packaging, so that customers can see the exact they are buying.
Oddly no price..

They probably see the secondary market prices for mimics and think "Lets get into this game"

I expect this "Mimic Colony" to have an MSRP of $400....maybe more. Why not $600? They will put 8 mimic minis in and since secondary market prices for these always hover over $60, I can see WotC and WK thinking they can easily sell these at this level.

I expect this to come in at the goblin set price point of $100.

Which will price me out for some mimics I would only use once.

I write at Blizzardwatch.com to afford all these minis. Officially boycotting WizKids until Three Kobolds in a Trenchcoat is released to the general public.
Donated my PPM to a local library D&D group.

Man, this set looks badass.

I was about to comment a little bit ago its been a while since we've heard of any new news.

Why they are showing us stuff for 9 months from now is curious. We already had tons of items known going all the way to April.

The look great. Be even cooler if they included the non-mimic form, but I already have enough chests, barrels, tables, etc. to make it work.

High price point though. Galladoria games also does sets of mimics that do include the non-mimic form. Painted is expensive, though these are hand-painted rather than factory painted.:

Like the concept, like the figures, grr the price.

What would have made it an exceptional set would have been the inclusion of the items in the non mimic form.

However, I will be purchasing this set.

Man, I wish I had won the lottery as much as I have been predicting this set. :P

https://icv2.com/articles/news/view/522 ... ny-warband

And for a set with 7 minis, some of them Large, 60$ is not a bad price. Especially considering for how much even the MM1 Uncommon Mimic goes for.
Interesting how these all seem to be new molds, the Barrel Mimic is not the old Nolzur one. They seem to be partially inspired by that "Mimic Country" setting art from Xanathar's book.

Love that Flowerpot one, but the Chest is the funniest, has that smug look like he has just eaten someone.

And here we were, thinking the Outhouse Mimic was the most hilarious one Wizkids could do!

Sing it with me now (to the Lego Movie 'Everything is Awesome" tune)

"Everything's a Mimic
Everything can pretend to be something else
Everything's a Mimic
And they want to eat youuuuu!"

Hmm, I think the Table Mimic looks to be the same type of table as the Boneyard Poltergeist!
Some maybe what you think is an invisible force rocking the table, is just a Mimic pretending to be a Poltergeist... :D
Does whatever a Spiderdragon can!

I was thinking the same thing about missing the mundane versions of the items. But I actually think we have dungeon dressing versions of just about everything except the flowerpot and wardrobe. And who knows, maybe these are in the works in another product.
Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.

Great set, but no reason not to have included unrevealed variants. That would have nearly justified the price.
This is too expensive.

For $60 you too can destroy your players' trust in you as a DM and slow adventuring to a crawl as they poke literally everything with a stick!
Forever DM and avid mini collector.

That's not really relevant though, since those are collector's prices based on scarcity. These won't be scarce. Are some of these large? The rug, I assume?
