Re: Azurehold Dungeon Tiles
Thanks for sharing. I was going to post the launch this morning too.
I wont be backing, personally. A debut campaign like this is bound to have fulfillment issues, and while I wish them the best I'd rather not have $200 locked up in a 'maybe they can pull it off' scenario.
The product DOES look nice though, so I do support anyone willing to roll the dice.

Periodically adding miniatures and terrain to my Sales thread.

That is definitely an ambitious launch.Zb2307 wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 3:06 am https://gamefound.com/en/projects/azure ... op-terrain

There is none higher.
Re: Azurehold Dungeon Tiles
I love the gothic tiles, I'm such a sucker for anything in that vibe. I wish there were more options for that vibe that wasn't 3d printed. I am currently pledged, but it is to secure an early bird pricing. I'm not sure if I'm going to follow through with it yet.
Re: Azurehold Dungeon Tiles
I'm intrigued by the Citadel and Catacomb themes, but feel like I need to see more in-hand product before I consider pledging.
Current PPM wishlist: Barlgura, Bronze Scout, Cultist/Cult Fanatic, Gnoll Witherling, Hezrou, Nonaton, Stone Defender,

This, plus the fact that they cheaped out with using AI backgrounds for a lot of the promotional images which immediately made me think that they are not committed/serious enough to/about it.MyriadTabletop wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 10:19 am Thanks for sharing. I would gladly eat omelette made out of Remorhaz eggs.
Just have to get the eggs now.

Interesting. I wonder if they’ll work with Ettinstone and Modular Realms.
Re: Azurehold Dungeon Tiles
Talks of concern on Discord from both Dwarven Forge fans and Dungeons and Lasers fans on this one.
I was following but the lack of images and physical people getting to play around with say pilot pieces is lacking.
Sounds like a lot of pieces for a great price but not actual physical examples of it.
Too bad as the arches and Egyptian to use with Dwarven Forge would have been awesome.
But this one scream buyer beware plus it's been 24 hours and less than 50 pledges is not a great sign... but I do wish them luck.
I have done KS where you think you are getting something but the fund in the end is help setup shop..... this one I could be wrong, but something is not jiving.

I saw your comment. I think these will be 3D printed. Nothing in the description gives me any indication otherwise. This does lower the risk-level, but it also lowers my interest.Zb2307 wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 12:44 pm I love the gothic tiles, I'm such a sucker for anything in that vibe. I can just go on MyMiniFactory or Patreon, and buy an STL pack for a quarter of the price and paint up 44 pieces to a decent table standard for under half the cost and none of the risk. I still do support anyone who wants pay-and-done terrain though. I just expected a factory made product though.

I just saw the replies back on the gamefound page. It really kills my interest in the project and I will more than likely cancel what I had for this.MyriadTabletop wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 3:23 pm I saw your comment. I think these will be 3D printed. Re: Azurehold Dungeon Tiles
They claim it is going to be 3d printed in resin. Which is by far the best option in terms of print resolution, but is prone to chipping. Plastic injected molds are far better, but way more expensive.
I'm super skeptical of this one - it's extremely ambitious and they have no track record and not much to show. I love their concepts, and that they want to be DF compatible, but they should dial it back. Start with something small and more achievable, like just a simple version of their Egyptian-themed tiles, and show that you can follow through. Build your reputation before trying to go big.
This just seems like all concept but no real plan. Right now they are "funded" (barely) but 30k is not remotely realistic. But I wish them luck - if they can pull it off, I'd love some of those Egyptian tiles.

Re: Azurehold Dungeon Tiles
Saw this one, decided not to back it. I think they're serious enough, and actually trying to get this properly done. I didn't see a problem with the pricing, either. But the fact that it was 3D printed was what got me to decide against backing it.
There's too many unknowns that from my meager experience tend to towards lower quality when it comes to 3D prints: What type of resin is being used(usually some cheaper, easily breakable resin, to cut costs), will there be visible print lines(most likely since they're printing a ton, and need to reduce production time), is there going to be warping and other printing mistakes(again very likely, because quality assurance costs both extra time and money), etc.
Could be it turns out they do a great job with these, and if so I might back them in the future! But I'm not jumping in on this one right now. Best of luck to them, though!
I would've been much more likely to back if they just did resin casts instead. 3D print a few high quality masters, make a handful of molds, and start casting. I don't think it's any more expensive than resin printing, either.
