Lolth, the Spider Queen

Post by JLant1 »

Relatively subtle repaint...wanted the classic skin tone and Shyish Purple did the trick nicely:

A wash would look great on the body and legs.
Im not so sure about the red on the face but to each their own!
Nice job.

The darker skintone is great. But I have to agree with Coyotee, the red lips and in the eyes seems a bit off for a drow based mini.
Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.

The spotting on the opisthosoma looks fantastic—did you add that? I was curious if it was inspired or if there is a real world spider counterpart? Looks cool.

I’ve been looking for a Lolth (or Lolth-like) mini for a while, but haven’t found one that looks exactly the way I’d like it to look. I’d like to find one that is just a drow head attached to the spider body, without the humanoid torso, but I haven’t seen one like that. Still…this one is pretty cool.

It was already existing...I kicked it up a notch by adding darker coloration in successively smaller areas.

As far as the color choices, I took some OG art as inspiration:

though I admittedly I jacked up the red a bit (she is a Demon Lord, after all!). As always YMMV.

Getting a Lloth with the classic looks would indeed be cool:

Being old school love it!

I would maybe do the body black but that would be a major update and prob ruin the resell of the mini. :P

But I love what you did there.... great job on fixing the skin tone. :)
