sluggish site load times

The site has been down for hours now, at alarming frequencies. I was unable to even get it to load all evening yesterday, and some days ago it also was unreachable for more than an hour...

It's very slow today. Right now it took about 20 seconds from me pressing "post reply" to the page opening. And some page loads have been much slower.

It's doing it to me too. And I could not even load the site at all for about 10-15 minutes, it would just show a blank white page without errors...

Yeah, it is logging me out every time too. Sometimes nothing is available, sometimes the galleries work fine but message board is down.

Same as above. Page won’t load, just a white screen; being logged out. It’s happened several times over the past 7-10 days.

Seems to be better now... yesterday was down most of the day or just very slow.

For reference, I have this issue quite often lately too, but never during the day. I only have it in the evenings when people in the USA are awake too, and more often on Fridays/in the weekends. So maybe it's a server capacity thing?

A few months back my hosting provider was bought out by a larger conglomerate. I was concerned that such a change might result in service changes. I am hoping that the issues noticed are not related to a downgrade in their service levels.
