Dwarven Forge Fans Thread
Re: Dwarven Forge Fans Thread
They did say last night this will be small KS .. no chance for sure on scope creep due to tariffs what ifs! (to keep cost down) lots of green, banks, 5 new trays, texture mats, Tudor to match the modularity of the fieldstone from Lowtown. (no free-standing walls). The fruit trees are actually attachments like tops with a pin that can be interchangeable with tree bases or the new garden planters.
No new roofs supposed to use old City or the new Lowtown ones that was always the plan.
They are actually in talks of possible shipping from China for countries outside of the US to help to get around the tariffs for a chunk of their audience. US there is not much they can do at this time, but they believe going small will be less of the blow for US customers and Dwarven Forge themselves. Just an idea they have been exploring if it's possible. Moving to the US is not possible for them, that would mean they would need to just call it a day as a company if they even tried that financially.
Streets will be pushed into Part2 which will be in Feb 2026.
That means Snow and Sand will not be until mid 2026 or later and High Town is in the air as they are pulling from that idea for the next few KS's (Lowtown/ Cities Reforged 1 and 2). If High Town does happen it will be focused more on courtyards and of course that Ashlar stuff they showed a few years ago.
Restocking the Webshop is not happening much as yeah it costs to get it from China. (no idea if the pause will be turned back on tomorrow or if the tariff leaps more... too many unknowns for them to be placing orders)
So yeah, if you want streets grab them now before they gone because it could be a while, they have started to take some of the overstock Lowtown and make new bundles to sell on the store to assist in income coming in still.

That whole pond/dirt township build is almost a must buy as a bundle minus some of the buildings. It’s honestly beautiful.
Side note: I would love if one day they sold those backdrops they have behind their builds at times.

It would be great if they would ship directly to the EU. The two times that I made an order from here, between shipping and taxes, I ended up paying between 50 to 55% extra.Yack wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 5:10 am They are actually in talks of possible shipping from China for countries outside of the US to help to get around the tariffs for a chunk of their audience. By the way I ended up painting a couple of the ledges with Army Painter primer and then a mix of vallejo, army painter and citadels paintings. It worked quite well and the result works fine with the already painted stuff I bought (bear in mind that i'am a mediocre painter).
The grassy stuff looks fine, I had more trouble with rocky part.

I do not like the grass and dirt path trays personally, but I do think will go with some of the regular all dirt trays and one pond.
Will have to decide if I go lawn banks or maybe more wildlands swamp banks…

I am stuck in the middle of decisions when the time comes.
Right now I may have to skip Cities Reforged as $$$ just do not have it.
The pond tray and the little fruit trees I love right now.
The trays are cool but for the price point they only have one use but would be quick to drop and build
Banks well its going to take a ton of banks to make a table of roads.... but they have multiple uses... my problem with them is I do not use ground tiles (forest or swamp) I use mats for that with scatter so they all would be mounds to make roads lol.
Maybe just maybe G.Games roads tiles are the way to go for me in the end for dirt roads Hmmm...

Re: Dwarven Forge Fans Thread
I hear ya. On the quick to drop stuff. I’m going to see how it plays out, but I think I will skip the lawn banks for that reason and maybe just order a couple more banks of swamp which I have already.Yack wrote: ↑Sun Jun 15, 2025 6:47 am I am stuck in the middle of decisions when the time comes.

I haven’t seen someone show off the GG road tiles to really make a decision on them. My initial thought is I will need multiple sets and the roads are too narrow… not that I want huge roads, but I would like to have two wagons side by side on a road for chase/heist encounters.
I budgeted out some space for streets for cities reforged because that’s what I want a good chunk of, but with the split I am left waiting.
Re: Dwarven Forge Fans Thread
Yeah, I prob could use more alleys than a pond, fruit trees and some banks.
I mostly game within dungeons and caverns ... outdoor is normally to me like 25% of the game. And cities is even less than that. I am kind of Citied out if that makes sense (stone/Tudor/wood) .... could I use more Tudor sure... but I think I could use more caverns pieces in collection more.... I really think the price of new roof system knocked the wind out of my excitement of getting more Cities. I personally find it overpriced for roofs. (yes I have both new and old roofs) but to get more walls and floors u need more roofs LOL.
I am still upset with myself with jumping on D&L Caves... real buyer remorse... I just do not like the system. Luckly I only bought the one set.

Yeah, I will be trying to sell the D&L pledge and cherry pick a couple stretch goals for myself. Might keep the goblin village I got with it.Yack wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 7:06 am Yeah, I prob could use more alleys than a pond, fruit trees and some banks.

Might end up selling the lot to my DM friend for a very cheap price to just claw back some of it and give him more terrain to play with.
Going to invest more in the DF cave system when I can.
