Re: Worst of the Worst - Dungeons of Dread
There really isn’t any mini that is a waste or I wouldn’t want to have , but some of them are just done soo poorly, and there are such better ones out there, that I have no desire to keep most of this set.
DWARF WARLORD - Call it Duergar mini and its fine…otherwise why is it grey/blue?
ANGEL OF VALOR – I find this mini confusing. Looks like it doesn’t fit in the dnd line.
CLERIC OF PALOR – Mini is fine, but the hand pose looks like a gangster holding his gun sideways to be cool. This image usually makes me pass on it for use.
ORC RAIDER- Worst orc ever!! Lazy in all aspects. Should have just done one of the war drums minis again and swaped the weapon.
CHAMPION OF BAPHOMET – Kind of cartoony with the image and the hammer.
TROGLODYTE BONE CRUSHER – Another poorly done flat mini. I have gotten ride of this mini a few times over the years when picking it up in sets.
GRICK – So embarrassing for WotC, after seeing the Giant of Legends grick and how much better it was, just a few sets earlier.
WIGHT WARRIOR – Boring and flat pose. Unimposing.

Goblin Picador - Just looks like a bad sculpt and paint job.

Grick - The four tentacles makes me think of a mighty moustache the way they're posed. Makes it look a bit silly.

Vampire Spawn - Looks absolutely silly.

Young Red Dragon: The pose of this thing is a sad joke. I don't know why somebody would want this over any other red dragon made by WotC or Wizkids.
Grick: It's every bit as bad as others have mentioned.
Orc Raider: "Our orc minis have often looked better than their rarity suggested". DoD set designers: "Lets fix that."

Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.

Re: Worst of the Worst - Dungeons of Dread
I’m surprised to hear this. My experience with this dragon was when I was going through the dragons and figuring out what I was missing. I had mistakenly thought he was huge, and I already had two other huge red dragons, so I left him on the back burner for quite some time. Eventually, I found one for less than $20, and I pulled the trigger. When he arrived, I discovered he was a large mini instead, but I think that was even better. The Large Red Dragon from Dragoneye is a little more colorful, but I like the Dungeons of Dread sculpt and pose better. That’s my opinion, I’ll let everyone else decide for themselves:

Re: Worst of the Worst - Dungeons of Dread
To me, the Dungeon of Dread red dragon looks as if he wants to tell you: "Hoho, I'm a red dragon and I'm having fun!". I usually have no trouble coming up with a personality for my minis when I DM, but it's hard for me to imagine this mini as a representation of a dangerous adversary.
This may be a personal issue, but I usually DM low-level adventures and a red dragon would be a "top of the food chain" kind of monster that players would usually not even directly want to confront, but rather try to navigate around or interact with diplomatically. The Dragoneye red dragon fits that bill. It looks to me as if it was talking, but not in a "Hoho, I'm a red dragon and I'm having fun!" way, but more cunning and dangerous, certainly up to something. I like it a lot more. It's not even close.
