Meh - nothing I don't already have except the enlarged Duergar - which is cool - and the Headless Monster, which is genuinely the worst executed Icons miniature I have even seen and so fills me with foreboding. With so many options for new creatures, why do they keep giving us monsters that already appear in Nolzur's, especially in the precious huge miniature slots? Another Stone Giant? Really?

I'm getting very, very few things from Wizkids these days, whereas they used to be my go-to. It is clear that they are now most interested in selling expensive, premium (semi) painted miniatures to collectors.

Edit: Here is my Wishlist from another thread. How much more exciting would you have been to see something like:

Awakened Tree (huge)
Unspeakable Horror (huge)
Flail Snail (large)
Mindwitness (large)
Catoblepas (large)
Gibbering Mouther (medium)
Shadow Demon (medium)
Yuan Ti Broodguard (medium)
Stirge (small)
Mephits (small)

plus a few packets of adventurers - maybe a pregnant human wizard+pregnant half-orc fighter, along with a Goliath druid+ranger.

I'm excited for the Wereravens and White Dragon Wyrmling. Glad we got confirmation the Enlarged Duergar is coming, I'll probably skip the paint night kit now.

The human form for the Wereraven is Davian Martikov from page 179 of Curse of Strahd.

I hope that Icons of the Realms does more sets for Curse of Strahd and includes him (and the rest of the Martikovs from page 103) at some point.

Love that human form Wereraven, great idea as they are mostly used as helpful NPCs.
Huh could have sworn they already did Stone Giants.
Nice to see a female Nosferatu! Good sculpt. Hope we see that and the Duergar prepainted soon.
Curious how the Headless Monster - here Medium only - has furred Werewolf legs, the Ravenloft one just has smooth blue digitigrade feet.
Odd that the Quicklings are all the same mold, when we do have a male one from ToD. Honestly, the set looks more like captured images in time of just one of them attacking.

They're doing new versions of the giants (there's a Fire Giant in Wave 18). Not sure why, tbh, the models are pretty similar to what we already have.

Wereravens, vegepygmies, nycaloth have my vote.

I have a ton of wasps from the old ddm days that could work for murder hornets.

Some of them look really great. The white dragon warming looks like the one that was released as a render for the wave where we got a few other wyrmlings, but wasn’t released at that time. I think that render paired it up with a frozen cow.

And thanks for breaking up the waves in different posts instead of posting in that mega thread. So much easier to keep up to date and find what you’re looking for.

The idea is from Ravenloft (both the 2E and new 5E one). Dr Victor (Victra) Mordenheim creates these, and attaches the heads of your PCs to them while he/she regenerates their real bodies via cloning, then sends them on missions. So you can have your players get some pretty powerful new abilities, but also the chance for Power Checks as they can go berserk like real Flesh Golems.

Yes, it is exactly the same, but now with a frozen chest. I did not know it was not released.

Well, that’s a hit or miss set. Here’s my breakdown:

The good;

Quicklings - as long as they aren’t blobs of primer, these will be a 2 pack purchase.

Wereravens - very well done. I’ll defiantly find a use for the human form as a major NPC

Nycaloth - I still wish there was a four armed variant, but yay!

Enlarged Duergar - looks good and fills a niche

Nosferatu - these make great ghouls, instant 2-3 packs

Vegepygmies - yay, no buying them at $3 a piece, and I need a bunch. Instant buy 3 or more packs

Murder Hornets - medium sized hornets/bees that don’t look cartoony or derpy? Heck yeah. I’ll need at least 4-5 packs.

The Bad:
Girallon - I can’t stand the 5e redesign for these guys.

Artificer - I’m guessing these are early Spelljammer set figures, because they’re way too 50s sci-fi even for Eberron. This coming from a guy that fully embraced 3e Eberron.

Elf Rogues - who was really looking for their 12th unpainted elf dual wielding dagger rogue mini?

Headless Monsters - I agree with Clint. Who looked though sales from the last few sets and said….’Let’s Rick-Roll them with the most flaming garbage bike short wearing flesh golem we can find?’

The indifferent
Stonegiant - I’ll probably get it on sale. It’s definitely based on the same digital asset the frameworks stone giant is. The same thing happened with the new hill giant. At least Stone giants (along with cloud giants) are one of the less represented giant races.

White Dragon Wyrmling - it’s pretty much the prepainted one, even down to the paint job…

Dead Warlord - it doesn’t have any real problems, but this guy does nothing for me. Maybe it’s because he’s dressed like Arthur from MPs Holy Grail or maybe it’s because I already own a couple minis with this basic setup.

Throwing my 2 cents in….

Stone Giant: I might pick one up, but I don’t really care about stone giants. They don’t do it for me. I have some prepainted ones that stand up straight from Snowbound to repaint, so, on second thought, this is a pass.

Quicklings: agree about the primer situation being critical. If they look good; I’ll pick up a pack. I love their ridiculously fast movement.

Wereravens: I already have four from Ravenloft, but yes yes yes.

Girallion: I like him! I don’t have a PPM version so it’s a sure fire purchase.

Artificer: Not from Spelljammer but from Tasha’s. The left one is not very sci fi in appearance in the book but seems more like a Bronze Age pyromancer to my eyes. I love him. The one on the right I can use for Starfinder probably.

Elf Rogues: Maybe. If they look nice I might grab them.

I love the headless monster adventure idea, BB laid it out pretty well. I’ll buy these for sure.

The Nycaloth and the Enlarged Duergar are both destined for purchase of multiple copies.i might even pick up one each of the paint kits for snacks and giggles.

Nosferatu: Awesome.

White Dragon Wyrmling: Pass. I have two from Snowbound I can repaint.

Vegepygmies: Definite purchase if they stand up straight.

Dead Warlord I love.

Murder Hornets are a definite buy as well.

So, looks like I want most of this wave. Which is odd, because it doesn’t particularly excite me as a collective whole.

Yeah, there's things I can use (vegepygmies) but that aren't exactly thrilling, nor am I eager to paint (vegepygmies). I see the Headless Monster as disaster waiting to happen, given how poorly it was executed in the PPM. But maybe they have fixed the problems.

Overall, given how many cool options were available, it is a really uninspired Wave. I think it also suffers from some of the more interesting miniatures (Girallon, Nycanoloth) already being available dirt cheap as PPM. Like, I might eventually get them so I can have new poses but it's not an instant buy for me.
