I have a boat load of the factory painted hellscape, and I can honestly say I never had the thought “oh that needs touch up paint.” I’m sure there are places where they missed something or a little light is shining through, but hellscape is already chaotic and messy so any minor paint misses honestly probably blend right in. I’d highly recommend getting this set pre-painted, everything I’ve heard on the DF disco Said painting this to match is no fun.
I've painted all but one piece of mine...and I honestly think the factory painted stuff looks better. I was trying to put in too much detail, but Hellscape is all about big splashes of colour, so I think the more aggressive factory paint job is the way to go.

I'm not writing that to be modest - my wilderness tiles look miles better than the factory stuff. But for Hellscape, get factory painted, is my advice! Also, it's super tedious to paint because you have to undercoat all the black with white.

Ok closed out my Wildlands Reforged

its small as I just use scatter and have some already from the 1st KS

Texture Swamp mats grid x2
Mountain Skirmish Dressing Unpainted... been on my wish list for a while to add to my current escarpments and big number of peaks and cliffs in my collection.
Bestial Lair Dressing Unpainted (love burrow hole, a couple small scatters and the eggs/nest) better bargain than the new Reaper one for me.

Chris mentioned PM will close on the 28th I believe so its not open very long.

Put in another order and got me the Necromancer´s Keep.
I thought it would be a good entry into castles and I could also make a watchtower out of it or a small garisson with my other city stuff.
For those who have this beast as well, how are your thoughts on the set and it´s versatility?

Been weighing up getting an Erinthor bundle on the recent Wildlands campaign; I can make swamp and forest builds from my other scatter like Monster Fight Club, but the Dwarven Forge escarpments/elevation terrain is pretty much unique as far as I can tell. This would be my first ever DF purchase.

However ultimately I think I'm going to pass. I don't doubt its quality, but it's just far too much money for what it is. After the UK exchange rate, + shipping + 20% tax on top, it gets too crazy.

I'm going to have to find some other means to add cool elevation to my wilderness builds. Who knows, in five years time maybe Warlock Tiles will have finally come out with some cool wilderness stuff.
New collector building up his Icons sets one case at a time.

Here is my guide to Mountains on the cheaper DF side and also, they are silly simple to paint.

Mountains
• Mountain Floor Pack One Set gets you 2 8x8 floors or you can use Terrain Trays
• Mountain Elevation Pack 1-2 sets to help build width and height and use Foam blocks
• Mountain Cliff Pack 1-2 sets help building roundness and stepping areas
• Mountain Peak Pack One set should be enough as toppers for the mountain range

Escarpments of course can be dropped down but big bulk $$$ pieces but the list above was before those Wildland releases.

Mountains I prob use more than swamp or City stuff. Mountain pieces is higher cause you can use them easily with caverns also.

Pic of my DF Stone Mountains in storage.... 1 big heavy bin. Escarpments, peaks, blocks, and multiple cliff packs.

I think the Necromancer's Keep is gorgeous - have fun with that! But TBH, I barely used my DF castles stuff - the watchtower and some of the ruins, but I just don't find most castle stuff that useful for the games I run. Usually if something happens it's inside a castle, which I can represent well enough with dungeon tiles.

I love my Necromancer's Keep.
It's quite easy to change up it's appearance with other castle pieces.
And a photo, just because it's been a while :D

The necro keep contains the large watchtower right?

That thing looks amazing wow what a stunning photo.

Have you used the watch tower separately? How is the playability there?

It doesn’t contain a full watchtower. It’s missing the inwards facing 25%. In other words, it kind of wraps around the square structure.
I guess you can build a short version of the watchtower, maybe 3 stories instead of 4.

Playability inside the keep is somewhat limited. The tower is a little better, but space is constrained.
I use the necrokeep mostly for dioramas and Warhammer scenery.

Since I get m Reforges pledge shipped
to Germany, I am able to combine it with stuff from the store to safe on shipping and after some exchange via email I found out that this applies to the coming restocks as well.
This is great, since I can add stuff from them now without worrying that they sell out. I added stuff like the Stairway to violence, Titans Tooth, the caverns floor and the diagonal dungeon walls. Is there any other stuff you think will be hard to get in the future?
