I'm following this. I don't need those mega-sized miniatures, but Cthulhu vs. Godzilla is something I never knew I needed in my life. I might be in for this.

I think it's almost a crime to not get Godzilla to fight R'yleh.

Painted up the Season 4 expansion set. Now I just have to do all the extras. Then I can get started on Reaper Bones 6!

Moved on to my last box from this KS, but it's the big one with all the bonus miniatures. Started by getting all the extra characters painted. Speed paints with some touch-ups:

I finally got mine yesterday. It was fun reading through some of the investigators - nice additions to the gameplay. Already making preparations for commencing the painting phase. :)

These are fantastic Clint, thanks for posting the pics; extremely inspiring too.

We finally got ours too a few days ago. Sooooo much stuff to organize and prep. We really want to first organize everything in different boxes and then get started painting.

We're super stressed with our current move (things keep changing) and are hoping to have a permanent painting/crafting station at the new place so that we can consistently paint our games.

Sadly you cannot buy just add-ons so it's basically $310 for Godzilla. ($210 + the $100 for the base expansion)

I'm backing it! I don't need a giant Godzilla, but my $100 pledge is already getting me around 80 miniatures between the base set and stretch goals, and will likely wind up at around 100 or so. A buck a miniature for exceptional quality is a no-brainer, especially since I am hoping to run a long-ish Arkham Horror RPG campaign.

These games are fun but don't feel too much like Cthulhu mythos to me - they're much more like a tactical combat boardgame.

Any CMON board game is really just that; tons of value in minis.

We do enjoy some of the games a lot but even if it wasn't for that, we'd still back them for the minis, since, as you said, it's insane value for the quality you get as well.

A lot of people on both the comments section of the campaign and on the DMD FB group are complaining that the models are not as good as they used to be in previous boxes, but I honestly disagree with that. I believe the monsters are just a bit more humanoid looking and they are leaning a lot more on the more uncanny looks for the horror value this time around.

Also, a lot of the episodes in DMD do feel like tactical combat, but there are many that give a nice mythos feel too. For more "cthulhu investigation" style stuff, there's always Mansions of Madness and Arkham Horror LCG!

CMON is doing their CMON thing once again by adding new expansion stuff halfway through the campaign!

(they ALWAYS do that, in most if not all of their crowdfunding campaigns! XD)

Looks freaky and awesome!

I saw that - I think the huge miniatures is pretty cool, but I don't love the way the smaller miniatures are posed, at all. More to the point, I think it's a bad offer. $5 off MSRP? If I decide I want it, I'm better off waiting for the same 1-2 years and just buying it retail, when I won't have to pay for shipping. Hard pass.

You are not wrong at all with your thinking. I say that based on what I've seen for previous expansions like it that they released for both DMD and other campaigns. It's only the stretch goals that usually go for insane amounts on the aftermarket. Everything else you can get later on and maybe even wait and get it 2nd hand off someone else on BoardGameGeek.

It's more about having it arrive together with everything else and being able to play with it "earlier than others". But, to be fair, there is so much content for this game out there that I doubt anyone will buy it for that reason. CMON goes hard on the FOMO factor, even if it is not really FOMO (since as you said, most of these hit retail at some point later on).

The poses are indeed a bit weird (bit too much terrain I feel). I am generally enjoying the lil' details DMD minis have, especially monsters that with some dark gradient coloring they end up looking amazing! :D

Already up to 37 additional stretch goal miniatures, so we should indeed wind up with around 100 total for the the base $100 pledge. Plus, you know, the game itself, which is a good game. C'mon has a great track record of delivering, so I definitely recommend this KS if you want Cthulhu or horror-themed miniatures. The sculpts really are top notch.

With a just a few days left it's already at 100 miniatures and counting (mostly medium, with a fair number of large and a few huge). So you're going to be looking at less than a dollar per miniatures, for exceptional quality. I highly recommend this KS if you have any interest or need for horror-themed miniatures. All of the monsters work great for D&D as well.
