My PCs in our Rime of the Frostmaiden tracked the murderer Sephek Kaltro into an ice cavern. After a tough battle with him I ran the scene with a mythic twist.. he melted and reformed into an Ice Elemental with 5 Ice Mephits coming down from the top of the cavern to boot. Turned into an epic encounter with 3 near deaths. I was happy it played out well. The ice cavern gave everyone vulnerably to cold damage.
That's a really cool(no pun intended) and atmospheric setup!
I've been looking at that Schleich Eldrador terrain and considering whether or not to get it. These pics are definitely a vote for getting it.

I had been waiting for the right moment to use it and it really paid off. I lit up a lot of it with tiny LED lights under a lot of the structure. My players were really into it. I was able to use the collapsing bridge in play and the two ice spikes. It actually played better than I had anticipated, which was just grand.

That is really, really cool! The use of lighting completely sells it.
Thanks Clint, recently been trying to up the lighting game. Picked up two 2m Lenovo LED strips, a bag full of tiny battery powered LED (used here under the "ice") for making buildings look like the lights are on, and a nanoleaf set of mini triangles which I am still trying to figure out.
I am planning to build a few very large dungeons out of my warlock tiles collection and get the lighting heavily involved.
I love the lighting, especially with how it can be housed in the transparent ice terrain.
The overall lighting effect is wonderful, but the band was a little out of place. I'm wondering if there is a reasonable way to conceal it in terrain? My first thought was to build an overhand in floor tiles which it could be more concealed under, but all of that seems like a lot of work.
Also’, how did combat go? I would think it would be hard to read character sheets and see dice results in this low-light environment. Certainly using laptops or tablets could mitigate visibility problems, but now I’m think black-lights with dice that react to them would have been awesome!
Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.

I did try to weave the light strip in and other efforts but it wasn't malleable enough to keep in place, I didn't want to take the wrap off the adhesive which would have been more permanent. Need the 6ft light strip reusable.
Combat went very well, some of the PCs use devices. I also gave each player a small LED light to read dice rolls and I was moving around the table illuminating anything of import. Again overall it went fantastically and my players are still chatting about it in our group chat. Happy DM.
