Pathfinder Battles: Armies of the Dead (Set #25)

Post by Kor »

Here's a great looking set which is currently slated to be released in April 2024. It is nice to see Pathfinder Battles returning to a booster box format, especially for a set like this that will contain many miniatures which people will likely want multiples of.

Pathfinder Battles: Armies of the Dead (Set #25):

The core set will contain 46 miniatures and will be sold in booster boxes that contain 1 Large and 3 Medium or Small miniatures. Booster Price: $19.99.

There will also be 3 sets associated with this core release:

Pathfinder Battles: Death Coach Boxed Miniature:

This huge boxed miniature is the phantasmal Death Coach—a terrifying roving undead that captures unwilling mortal souls for transport to the Boneyard and isn't afraid to remove them from the living by force if necessary.

The Death Coach tabletop foe features glow-in-the-dark details and will make a unique addition to any miniature collection.

Price: $59.99

Pathfinder Battles: Gholdako Boxed Miniature:

This huge boxed miniature features the dreadful Gholdako, a monstrous mummified cyclops who stands opposed to any would-be grave robber or treasure seeker. Though not a challenge to lure away from their charge, gaining the malevolent attention of one of this giant undead will likely spell a character's gruesome doom.

Price: $39.99

Pathfinder Battles: Yamaraj Boxed Miniature:

This huge boxed miniature features the unsettling Yamaraj, a psychopomp of the highest order with crow and dragon-like features. These outsiders preside as the ultimate judges over souls and the dead and can make for a formidable foe as much as a powerful ally.

Price: $39.99

I don't run much undead at my table (just a general fatigue of zombies on my part), but I'll use that coach. Also, the demon duck of doom is a want. Lots of goodness so far.
This is too expensive.

Will get this, as I always do with my sub. This is in line with providing mini's for previous Adventure Paths.

Current path is Season of Ghosts - Likely to be undead heavy.

Previous path was Bloodwalkers - Undead nation of Geb

I already have undead hordes, hopefully this will be more than skellies zombies and ghouls. Like that One Eyed Zombie/Mummy I see there. Undead Cyclops is kinda neat.

There is some very cool stuff here, but I am pretty saturated with undead… I’m overwhelmed.
Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.

Okay okay - first impressions? I'm digging it.

Loved Boneyard as a set, and I'm liking most of the minis I'm seeing here too. That Death Coach is definitely an awesome looking setpiece mini.

EDIT: Just seen that the coach is described as a 'huge' rather than 'gargantuan' mini. I'll have to wait until we start to see some in-person reviews, but I hope it isn't too small to justify the price tag.

Hoping for some non human undead.

Halfling Vampire? Yes please
Tiefling Skeleton? I would be more than ok with this.

Undead animals are usually half hearted, but that Hyena? looks legit.

Dwarf Lich anyone?

High prices aside, this is looking like a really, really good set! I want to at least pick up some singles from this set.

That Death Coach is beautiful! I'm always happy to see more undead minis - they get a lot of play at my table.

The gallery is up for this set:

It displays all the minis I depicted above, and also a Dread Wraith mini, which also looks pretty good.

Wow, you already know the number, name and rarity!
The number of minis in the top box says 12, but it's 46.

The Death Coach could be on a gargantuan 4 x 4 base.
It has glow in the dark features, neat.
I bet it's the purple parts.
It looks like the doors open.
You could also place a mini on the roof and on the sest behind the horses.
This is super-useful.

A common "burning skeleton" is great.
The Afzakan Stalker looks like it's the Pathfinder name for an undead Dire Hyena/Hyanodon.
The uncommon Dwarf Ghost looks cool too.
I think it is s very good idea to make undrad of other races, that Elf Lich is incredible.

It's a relief to see PFB come back so strong.

Some real stars here. The Death Coach is amazing, though I am worried about paint steps. Parts of the coach and the horses appear to be the same color.

Love the wolf skeletons and that large zombie hyena thing. The Huge Mummy is also a perfect desert BBEG.
