Is frameworks and nolzurs dead

Post by Icegoat »

I have seen no new releases for either of these lines and there seems to be nothing in the pipeline. Obviously frameworks seems to be deeply discounted everywhere s look which would suggest its been a big failure, same with a lot of the obscure nolzur stuff and the big stuff like tiamat and the large dragons also heavily discounted and not selling. Seems this could be the end for these lines.

We haven't heard any confirmation on any of the unpainted lines but you are correct about the discounted items.
Frameworks is a grossly overpriced product line. The unpainted gargantuan dragons were grossly overpriced (most only $10 less than the painted versions) as well, so those aren't a surprise either.

I assume we'll hear something soon about nolzur's & deep cuts products for 2024. They did tell us they were cutting back the amount of waves we would see per year. I think we'll see a late summer or early fall wave.

For Wizkids, I suspect this is a case of diminishing returns. Moulds are expensive, Wizkids already offers at least one of almost all the "staple" class archetypes and monsters, and hobby stores only have so many shelves. I think Frameworks is a bust, but I suspect Nolzur's will continue to a put out a small run every six months or so to keep up brand awareness.

Nolzur's is not dead. The next wave should be announced late this month or early next.

I don't want to go too in-depth about the status of the line and the changes occurring with it, as I am not the Producer on the line, nor is it one of the categories I PM (I used to, but my responsibilities shifted quite a while back). Suffice it to say, yes, there has been a general slowdown in releases, and there have been efforts underway to get the line to a healthy place and hopefully predictable cadence moving forward.

Personally I hope Frameworks continues too. The pricing hasn't done this line any favors, but in terms of the product itself wave 2 is great, and I would love to see a wave 3.

Any chance 3 Kobolds in a Trench Coat will be in it so I can at least partially end my boycott?
I write at Blizzardwatch.com to afford all these minis. Officially boycotting WizKids until Three Kobolds in a Trenchcoat is released to the general public.

*Sigh*, I wish I had better news for you; I just barely managed to get one myself. I would love to find a new avenue of release for it, but I only have so much sway.

Who's the holdup? Is it Justin? Do you want me to talk to him? Is it Randy? Tell him to get a haircut. Not that I have any sway, either. If I did, there'd be AliensClix by now.
This is too expensive.

I have to note that, in a thread titled" "Is Frameworks and Nolzur's Dead?" the response was, "Nolzur's is not dead."

Yeah, it’s possible that Frameworks is siloed away from Vexwing in such a manner that they don’t know about that part of the product line, but I’m guessing Frameworks is a bust.

No, I'm aware. I'm not involved in any of the discussions or planning for the unpainted lines anymore, but I maintain a general awareness of all of the RPG team's products.

You'll likely see some of the unreleased roster of Frameworks minis, but their rollout will be a slow drip-feed, not waves like they were previously. How long these staggered releases will continue is going to depend wholly on sales.
