Gnomes on Parade
Gnomes on Parade
Normally I don't care much for whatever GW is releasing but I think this is awesome.

Agreed with Guyra - these are great! I love the druidish one with the goose. And the fox with the football (blood ball?) in its mouth is so adorable…

I pre-ordered these and the new treeman this Saturday. Best looking Blood Bowl team they have put out in a while.
Right up there with the Gwaka’moli Crater Gators and Dwarf Deathroller, lol

Man those Skinks are adorable, with their big heads!

I think all of that is a reference to a spanish cartoon, David the Gnome, where Gnomes are magical forest creatures, have the traditional red conical caps, and travel by riding intelligent Foxes! It's pretty well known in Europe.DnDYuan-Ti wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 10:54 am Agreed with Guyra - these are great! I love the druidish one with the goose. Oh cool! That sounds really cute honestly. But are you sure David is not actually a redcap playing a long game of deceit?BBShockwave wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 6:07 am Man those Skinks are adorable, with their big heads!

Yeah, saw these new gnomes while I was pre-ordering the warcry and kill team stuff this weekend. I’m not into blood bowl at all, but they do look like great, whimsical models. I did look at them with an assessing eye for just a minute wondering if there was a way I could kitbash them into red caps, but it looked like too much work, and I would have to source scythes and axes and such elsewhere. But they are definitely nice looking models.

Blood Bowl is a pretty fun theme, it's basically Warhammer Fantasy but less serious.
If you like the theme, I also recommend Rumbleslam, which is pretty much the same Warhammer (and assorted fantasy) theme, but as anachronistic wrestling teams!

The real reason his cap is red has a dark and dreadful secret his forest friends do not know about...DnDYuan-Ti wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 7:29 amOh cool! That sounds really cute honestly. Re: Gnomes on Parade
I assembled this box this morning and I'll admit when I opened it and saw all the tiny pieces I asked myself why I'd done this.
I don't think I've ever bought a GW box before and there were a lot of options I wasn't really expected. There were also some interesting extra "terrain" bits that fit the theme of the box.
I like this extra piece and modified it makes a great "territory" marker. I really enjoyed this kit.
I don't foresee any GW products in my future but I'll certainly be open to them, for the right price.

I hate gluing tiny pieces, they often stick to my fingers, I know what you mean!
