Adult Purple Dragon - I love this Purple Dragon design, and I've always thought this mini was one of the coolest DDM dragons ever made. So this just automatically gets my vote for best of the best.

Greenvise Vine - A really good plant monster design well sculpted into a miniature. Just beautiful, and very useful!

Human Outrider - This is a very cool and unique miniature. It's just very well done.

The Savage Minotaur is the best Minotaur ever done in PPM. And it's properly Large sized.

There are a lot of minis in this set I have liked right from the first time I saw them. This set deserves praise as having a lot of “slow boils” and under valued minis. In no order yet, cause I have not desided....

Grey and Purple Dragons- Neither are painted exceptionally well, but the posed and sculpt details make up for it. >Excellent representations of these 2 dragons.

Angel of Valor Legionnaire – This mini is very impressive for an uncommon. Not one I get a lot of use out of, but I think it looks great.
Image

Black Slaad – I think there could have been more done paint wise to bring out the detail in this mini, but it does work really well for a creature that has visual based feats and powers. Very imposing. I have never used mine, and I this inspires me to use it in this weekends game.
Image

Bullywug Guard and Mudlord – these 2 bullywugs and the BUllywug Thug in Deathknell are my favorite style of bullywugs. I have a small warband of these and like them a lot.

Human Outrider – I don’t understand why we don’t have more mounted NPC minis, especially since now they have the plug in torse/saddle options. I am going to go rant about a Cavalry Warband in the other thread.
Image

Inhabited Corpse / Fallen Villager – This doesn’t get an actual vote, but it is a useful token style mini. Good for setting. Good for dropping a story/game/trap hook for a minis based game.

Rockfire Dreadnought – Great level up for my fire elementals war band I have collected.
Image

Savage Minotaur – Beautiful mini! A bit odd and stiff in the cross chest slashing pose, but still well done in all areas.
Image

Zombie Hulk – My favorite ogreish zombie. But I am going to have a bit of fun with it on the worst of the worst thread.

This is such a good set after a bunch of mediocre sets in a row for the DDM line - unfortunately by then the damage was done and the line was pretty much done-for.

I wouldn't be surprised at someone naming just about any of the minis in this set in their top 3.
I personally like the Dragonborn Death Knight a lot, this zombie hulk and the tiefling cecromancer, but ask me again in a couple weeks I might have another 3 different answers.

My picks:

Image

Bloodspike Behemoth is just a great looking large dinosaur with enough weaponry and armor to give a party pause. Especially when there is more than one of them in the area. I know there is controversy over dinosaurs in D&D, and also with having them take up slots in sets when plenty of good alternatives are already available through other toy manufactures. But I like that they are the right scale and already have bases attached to them. I have quite a few dinosaurs in my collection, and never have felt cheated at getting them in cases.

Rat Swarm because it is a perfectly functional swarm mini for 3.5 rules. Four medium minis that can easily be placed underneath other minis when the swarming action begins. I use these a lot, and have enough to flood a sewer system with them when needed.

Savage Minotaur is one of the best minotaurs to date. And there are a lot of minotaurs out there. This one hits all the key points. It is large, it has a wicked looking Battle Axe, and I enjoy that it also has red glowing eyes. Don’t get me wrong, I have a bunch of minotaurs, even some that look like clerics and carry crossbows thanks to Pathfinder Battles. And some demonic ones as well. But this one is what I first think. I despise the fact when D&D tried to make them a playable race, they nerfed them down to medium. I have none of those paltry minis in my collection. If I’m going to let a player be a minotaur, they’re going to be a large character! Actually, I think he was a visible mini for this set. There were eight different ones that were visible, each booster displaying one proudly.

Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.

Funny, so many people like the Savage Minotaur... I mean he is pretty good, but the leather outfit including his little cap with leather straps for the horns, kinda make him seem like he is into BDSM :D

I prefer this Purple Dragon to the earlier Deep Dragon, as it matched the 2E art better. Took me ages to get one, as well as the Bullywug Mudlord... who is incredibly expensive for a Medium.

I never realized at the time the Death Knight was a Dragonborn, I was just wondering why he had a reptile skull for a head.
The Reaper looks like something from a so bad it's good horror movie.
Greenvise Vine is super fun and I wish we gotten more such carnivorous plants.
Likewise, this was the first time we ever got a skeletal Giant, we are lucky that Wizkids unlike WotC realized there is a big demand for these, and now we have several Giant Skeletons!
I like the Bodak, despite the weird colors. I wanted one for ages and this looked the part.
This was also my favourite Marilith too, despite the unfortunate joint lines. She has a great dynamic pose, and the face is a lot prettier than on the Blood War one.
The Githyanki Mindslicer is great with the Professor X style mental attack pose, and I love the Grey Slaad with his jazz-hands (would have been better if he got a fireball effect shooting out from them but that was not a custom at the time). These DDM sets have given us all the missing Slaadi but the Green, for which I am grateful.
Does whatever a Spiderdragon can!
