Pathfinder Battles: Adult Adamantine Dragon
So, as we are getting nearer to the new Monster Core book from Paizo with new artwork, it seems they are also doubling down on making larger miniatures - something they shied away from in the past.

It's only a Huge, though, so no oversized base, costs 80$.
Personally, I don't much care for the design, looks more like an evolution of Geodude from Pokemon with the big head and mole-like claws, but to each their own. Seems either it will be available as an unpainted mini too, or they just included the grey base images.

Vexwing delivers again. I love the new PF dragons so much. Thanks for the heads up BB!!!
Edit: Monster Core actually came out in March. It’s my favorite of the 4 mainline PF2E bestiaries.

I've been looking forward to this since they released the new dragon art! Hopefully they release all of their new dragons over time. Love the designs personally.

Oh, I like this one. I'll like even more at $40.
Welcome to the forums.
This is too expensive.

Welcome to the forums! I totally agree, I love the new dragons and the variety they add.
Re: Pathfinder Battles: Adult Adamantine Dragon
I like this chonky guy. It’s a nice change from the normal “been there seen that” dragons we got for so long.
I don’t like $80 for a huge mini though. Not remotely.

Same as the others. Nice looking mini. Not worth $80 to me. Luckily PF always goes on sale for 50% off. At this point PF is like Kohls. They list it at full price but sell everything half off all the time.
Check out my BUY LIST in the Selling group!

Thank you all for the welcome! I've lurked for a couple years but finally decided to post on this one
I agree that 80 can be a bit steep, but I might try and pick it up early anyway to help encourage more to be made. Plus gamenerdz usually has a good discount right away on wizkids stuff.

I feel the same. If spending a couple dozen dollars more on this could encourage more PFB to be made, it’s worth it to me. But that’s just due to my love of PF2E and its art.

You both get a sincere thanks from me personally. The first 45 days of sales are massively important, those numbers dictate production run size on similar items in the future, which due to the economy of scale massively affects price. The production run on this was determined based on the performance of the Cloud and Umbral dragons. Early purchases on Pathfinder items really would go a long way to giving me the freedom to make more things and hopefully in greater quantities. As I've said before, I really want to get back to PFB being broadly appealing and not a limited-run boutique line for a subset of well-off fans. No amount of assurances from me that "no, really, this would be a good product" goes as far as raw sales data.DnDYuan-Ti wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 8:41 pmSahu wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 8:37 pm Thank you all for the welcome! Yep. A single-packed huge creature. $35 tops for me, pretty much no matter what it is.
I do like how the adamantine is brought out here on the surface and the pose - looks fine!
Re: Pathfinder Battles: Adult Adamantine Dragon
Looks great, but as others have said - I can't justify anywhere close to a $80 price tag for a single Huge miniature.
I'm the only hardcore Wizkids mini collector at my FLGS, but everyone I play with loves the Wizkids minis. I've lost count of how many people see a mini on the table, ask "Woah, that looks cool - where did you get that?" - only to be put off when they look it up and start to see price tags. Although this is just anecdotal, it feels like there's a huge number of untapped potential customers out there.
Bit of a tangent there, back to the mini at hand - it does look great, and I do like that Pathfinder has a much wider variety of dragon designs than 5e. I'm curious to see how some of the rendered features translate into the final in-hand product.
Appreciate your position (and your transparency) Vexwing - and that you're not the one making decisions on pricing - but if Wizkids as a whole wants to make the move away from boutique-style offerings and attract a wider market, they need to take the first step and start offering things at a lower price; even if that means producing some loss leaders.Vexwing wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 10:58 pm
