I like the semi-painted versions better than the unpainted ones from the board game. They were really easy to make super secure, since they had little pegs on their feet into the heroscape base, so putting a couple of holes into the DDM base made them even more secure than putting say Nolzur's minis on their included bases.
Nice. I just use various third party bases, since I'm not at all worried about base consistency. :)

Really good generic townguard or mercenary.

Dwarven minis up until this point were pretty poorly sculpted. This one hold up nicely even by todays standards.

Black Dragon

Dragons from the DDM line have for the most part been poor sculpts. This is one of the few that I actually like.
Kinda looks green though....

1. Human Crossbowman
This is a mini that is useful in almost every adventure, as humans are by far the most encountered creatures.
It is also the best version created imo.

2. Medium Black Dragon
This mini looks very evil and imposing and fills out the base completely. A great CR 5 or 7 Boss Monster in D&D 3.5 (CR 7 in PF, not existing in 5e)

3. Cleric of Nerull
This is a great mini for an evil cleric, fighter or Antipaladin.

Currently, there is a three way time for the best mini:

Black Dragon (9)
Eye of Gruumsh (9)
Large Red Dragon (9)

And, one mini is running away with the worst title:

Dwarf Barbarian (9)
Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.
