I have heard mixed reviews on Rifts. But I also heard when Savage Worlds bought the rights and swapped it over to their system, it smoothed over the super crunchy stuff.
What did you buy this week?

I didn't realize Kevin sold it. He is/was a control freak when it came to the IP. It was super crunchy and I really enjoyed that about the system.

Maybe the real treasure was the herpes we got along the way...

Re: What did you buy this week?
My 50th Anniversary Case came today. Was hoping for a "weird one" but completely normal.
1 of each rare
4 Chase - Sheila, Venger, Blue Mage, Fiend
Brick 1 - 2 Large Rare, 3 Medium Rares, 1 chase
Brick 2- 2 Large Rare, 2 medium rares, 1 chase
Brick 3 - 2 Large Rare, 2 medium rares, 1 chase
Brick 4 - 1 large rare, 2 medium rares, 2 chase
This makes it so I have 1 of every chase except for the paladin and now have 3 to sell off.
Most interesting is every single brick had a pack with Large rare and medium rare. Those are the packs you want to learn how to fish for!
Not sure where 4th pic went!
This set jacks up the commons and uncommons. Had only 1 of some uncommons, 4 of others. Had 6 1E bugbears.

Re: What did you buy this week?
These arrived today. I’ve been looking for a rug “dressing” for my builds for a while. Ever since I saw Arbados’s build using them, actually. I found these at a craft/miniatures site (FactoryDirectCraft):
I think they are a great size and they’re actual material so they look pretty good. After the disappointing Rug of Smothering in the Infinite Staircase set, I have half a mind to fashion my own using one of these… Something a little like this, although I have to work out the details on how to make it permanent (this is just taped for a proof of concept):

Disclamer: I prefer black bases, and as such have painted many clear bases black. Pictures of my collection will reflect this, varying from the original way the mini was produced.
Re: What did you buy this week?
Dip it in Resin and then you can do a really crazy "wrapping" pose with it.

Re: What did you buy this week?
I’m debating if it should be a pose where it is standing, or one where it is wrapping a victim inside, like the trapper in Volo and Mordenkainen’s Foes.
I don’t have resin, but Hodge Podge should do the trick. I’ll probably need a form to hold the pose until it dries. I’m still thinking this through.

These look really cool!
Maybe you can sew some wires into the sides of them, that'd make it possible to "animate" the rugs.

My 2 cents, your mock up looks great, I wouldn't change much. Maybe tip one corner down so it looks like it's engulfing.
Also would make good magic carpets. Maybe put a slight ripple, wave, and ideally lift it off the ground with an acrylic block or something.

Re: What did you buy this week?
I'm tending towards the attack pose too. One thing I'm up wrangling with is that the carpet back looks a lot different than the front, and an enveloping pose would expose a lot more of that back. As it is, even the attack pose will look totally different from behind. I guess that's the way it is with real rugs, so maybe I'm making something out of nothing. I could line the back with burlap or something, but this is starting to become quite an involved project... All I started out doing was getting rugs for dungeon dressing.Gelcur wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:10 am My 2 cents, your mock up looks great, I wouldn't change much. I feel it's a little too big for a flying carpet. 3rd edition has these magic items up to a 10' x 10' size, but this is 10' x 15+'. 5th edition tops out at an even smaller 5' x 9'. If I used one of these carpets, it would be the equivalent of a mini van! For a rug of smothering, it needs to be big enough to engulf a medium mini, so the larger size is warranted there. It is in fact a large creature (animated object) in the 5th edition Monster Manual.
Dollhouse carpets can be obtained in smaller sizes, but I don't think I could create anything as sturdy and functional as the Death Saves - Flying Carpet mini, which I feel is spot on for my needs.

Modge Podge will 100% work fine on hardening that up. Even PVA (Elmer’s) glue would be fine.
I used the two mixed with a little water to set my Pale Night scratch build.

Re: What did you buy this week?
Had the big random box arrive today. It was bigger then I expected. I'm guessing it had 1200 minis in it. A lot look to be from one of the Reaper Bones pledges but also a neat mix of other finds. I've only had this happen twice now but I actually got tired of looking through them all! The other was the 7900 DDM mini collection that I spent about a week sorting.
The entire lot was $250 on Offerup and the prepainted minis are worth that meaning all the rest were free. Its going to take some time to go through for sure.
Anyone want some unpainted minis?
Can never have too many bases!
Hope I can find all the bits of this because it looks cool!
Some sort of glass dragon?
About 80 of the prepainted minis:
So many bags...
There was also a box of about 70 painted minis that I forgot to snap pics of. Most were pretty crappy paint jobs that I will sell in a big bulk lot.

Oh man, that's such a nice haul! Man, I feel a bit of envy over here, hehe!
That's the Gaping Dragon from the Dark Souls board game by Steamforged Games.
That's the Gem Dragon from the Reaper Bones 5 KS.
Re: What did you buy this week?
I was curious what KS the minis were from. That helps!
I didn't see wings that match the gaping dragon. bummer!

Ah man, that sucks! It's such a cool creature. (Speaking as a fan of the video game.)
